StoicallyTyped Newsletter
Happy Monday! I hope you’re doing well. I’ve been having a busy week preparing for the upcoming holidays! To that effect, this will be the final issue of StoicallyTyped for 2021! Thank you for joining me on this journey so far. The next time you see me in your inbox will be 2022!
Since this is 2021’s final issue, I want to share some stats from 2021 and some other newsletters that I enjoy (Android + other great ones).
I hope you have a great end to December!

📊 2021 Stats
One of my goals in 2021 was to focus more on reading and understanding the amazing articles that the Android Dev community make each week. To do this I was going to take some notes on everything I read. One day saw that Twitter had acquired Revue. Soon after that the Newsletter option was available in Twitter’s side bar and every time I made a thread I got a popup telling me about the new features.

I never actually intended to write a newsletter. I was just trying out Revue and discovered that it is a great way to gather articles and resources while also being a decent editor.
Whelp, I might as well send these out!
Thus, StoicallyTyped was born. Thirty-two issues later, here is how it’s grown!
An unexpected benefit is the people who reached out and introduced themselves! This was a wonderful surprise. It was really nice to meet you!

Over the course of 2021 newsletters have become a great learning tool and place of connection. They provide a more engaging connection for me and I appreciate the longer-form style of content. Below are some of my favorites! Newsletter

📚 Books for 2022
One of my goals for next year is to read more! I compiled a list of books I am looking forward to checking out. Here’s the thread!
Matt McKenna
I've asked around and compiled a list of books to check out for #AndroidDev, software engineering, and general career building!

Disclaimer: I have not read all of these, but have gotten most recommendations from good sources.
